Shri Mangi Tungiji consists of two hills Mangi and Tungi are two cliffs of a single mountain. Mangi is situated at a height of 4343 feet and Tungi is situated at 4366 feet above the sea level.
There are seven old temples on Mangi hill and so many images of feet of saints are installed here. There is a pond on Mangi hill named Krishna Kund. It is believed that Lord Krishna was cremated from here. A Cave named Balbhadra Cave where idols of Balram and many others are installed. In Balabhadra cave several idols in yogic postures are found. On the way up the Mangi summit we come across two caves of Siddha and Buddha. In the Siddha cave there exist 3 feet high Uttanga Padmasan idol of Tirthankara - some of the idols have been engraved on the walls.
Ahead of these caves after passing through a stone gate the path divides for Mangi and Tungi summits. There are nine caves at Mangi Giri. In the first cave temple there exists 3' 6'' feet high idol of Bhagwan Mahaveer Swami. Apart from this there are several stone idols and some are engraved on rocks. On one of the rocks Chaubisi has been engraved. The cave no. 6 is considerably large. The while idol of Adinath is placed in it. Several statues of Tirthankaras and sages in Padmasan and Khadgasan posture have been engraved on the inner walls.
The idols of many Tirthankaras and sages could be seen in the caves No. 7, 8 and 9. From the cave No.9 the Parikrama Path (going round the main shrine), 24 Tirthankaras are engraved and one can see the foot symbols of Aryika Sita. It is said Sitaji had performed penance here.
On Tungi hill there are five temples and two caves named on Bhagwan Chandraprabhu, the 8th Teerthankar and other is Ram Chandra Cave. In one cave there is an idol of Ram’s chief of army Kritantvakra. Also the idols of Hanuman, Gava, Gavaksha, Neel etc. are found here. On the path between Mangi & Tungi Hills to cave down, there are two Caves of Shuddha & Buddha Munies (ascetic saints), a Colossus of Bhagwan Munisuvrat Nath is there in Padmasana. Lord Bahubali and other’s idols are also there. Many idols on both the hills are carved on the rocks. Beautiful attractive images of Yaksha & Yakshini and Indra are also carved here.
Two chief caves are famous on Tungi Giri. In the first cave the 3' 3'' feet high idol of Bhagwan Chandraprabhu is placed. There are idols engraved in Padmasan and Khadgasan posture on the walls. In the second cave the idol of the Lord Ram and on his both sides the idols of Lord Nal, Neel and Gawaksha are placed. The idols of Gava and Tirthankaras are engraved on the walls outside the Cave. In the village at the foothill there are several Jain temples founded 200 years ago. It was a seat of scholars and Bhattarakas. Besides there are several Dharamshalas and three Jain temples. In the Parshwanath Jain temple the idol of Chief deity Parshwanath with 9 hoods, congregation hall and other idols. In the Adinath temple apart from the idol of the chief deity Adinath there are several other idols and in the temple of Parshwanath idol of chief deity Parshwanath with hoods, congregation hall and other idols and also foot symbols of Acharya Shanti Sagarji. In the third Parshwanath Jain temple the idol of Parshwanath with 11 hoods over head and other idols are placed.
Other caves house the idols of Lord Rama & his dear & near ones. What attracts attention, however, imediately after reaching the place is mammoth , 31 feet high statue of hagwan Bhuubaliwhich was erected recently in 1996. The serpentine steps look like a cleavage of both the mountains . The steps, however, are the additions made in the modern times for the convenience of the pilgrims . There are caves named after several Jain sages like Subuddhamuni , Muni Suwratanath , Bhagwan Bahubali & 24 Teerthnkars in the middle of the stairway.
In two main caves of ADINATH and SHANTINATH Caves, an inscription of V. S. 1400 is found in Adinath Cave. There are several other caves named after deities and sages such as Seetaji , Mahaveer , Adinath , Shantinath , Parshwanath and Ratnatrya. who were liberated there. At the foot of the hills there are three temples housing more than 75 idols.
Folowing are more details of each cave on Mangi Tunig Siddhe Kshetra hills.
The main temples on Mangi Hill (out of 7) are:
(i) Mahavir Digambar Jain Cave Temple: Here the main idol is of Lord Mahavir in sitting posture which is 3.3 feet in height. There are four other idols on the left side. On the wall four Arihant idols are carved.
(ii) Cave No 6: Main idol of this temple is Lord Adinath in sitting posture (4.6 feet in height. There are twenty idols on cave's wall in sitting posture. Lord Parshvanath is in the middle of this temple. Two tirthankars sculptures in sitting posture and two in standing posture are also there. Another 28 idols have also been carved here apart from seven more idols in sitting posture on the wall.
(iii) Cave No. 7: Four idols in four directions and four are on the sides of the wall.
(iv) Cave No. 8: There are twenty idols and seven jain saints sculptures. On the outer side of the cave's wall there are seven sculptures and four Jain saints sculptures installed.
(v) Cave No. 9: As many as 47 idols are on three side and in the middle of this cave there is Lord Parshvanath installed (2.10 feet in hight). 13 jain saints are also seen on the cave's wall. On the hill's wall there are 24 tirthankar's sculpture and foot images of jain saints who get salvation from this hill.
Main Digambar Jain Temples On Tungi Hill (out of 4)are, Tungi Giri hill has five temples on it and two caves, Bhagwan Chanraprachu and Ram Chandra Cave.

(i) Lord Chandraprabh Cave: Main idols is Lord Chandraprabh in sitting posture which is 3.3 feet in height. There are another 15 idols out of which, seven idols are 2.1 feet in height and 8 idols are 1.3 feet in height. All are in sitting posture except 2 sculptures in standing posture 10 inches in height carved on cave's wall. All the temples belong to the period of 7th - 8th century.
Main Digambar Jain temples On foothill are:
(i) Lord Parshvanath Jain Temple: Main idol Lord Parshvanath in sitting posture with 3.8 feet in hight was installed in V.S. 1915. There is samavsharan temple and in this temple 12 idols are made in stone and 33 idols are made in metal.
(ii) Lord Adinath Temple: Main idol of this temple is Lord Adinath in sitting posture (2.5 feet in hight) installed in V.S. 2394. On left side is Lord Vimalnath (2.1 feet i n hight) and Lord Cahadaprabhu. On right side Lord Adinath in sitting posture (2.2 feet in hight).
(iii) Lord Parshvanath Temple: Main idol Lord Parshvanath in sitting posture with 3.6feet in hight was installes in V.S. 1870. And 6 other idols in sitting posture made of stone.
(iv) Sahatrakoot Lotus Temple and Garden: This temple has 1008 Idols.
Apart from these temples, Ganini Pramukh Aryaka Shri Gyanmati Mataji has initiated a gigantic project to construct a 108 feet high Lord Rishabhdev Idol . Once complete, this would be the tallest idol in any religion in whole of India and would be spreading the message of peace and jainism for thousands of years to come. The idol is being carved out into the hill at halfway and currently the face is now begining to show. It would take another year or so before the idol would be complete and the panch kalyanak mahotsav of the tallest structure being held there.
